The Swingin' Snare Drummer!
"The years 1933-45 were called “The Swing Era.” Big bands were at their peak. This style of jazz music fueled a frenetic youthful dance craze that helped lift people’s spirits during the hardship of the Great Depression.
The Swingin’ Snare Drummer is a collection of original snare drum solos inspired by the fast tempos, rhythms and energy of that time.
Each solo is written in Cut Time (2/2), as were most jazz tunes of the Swing Era. Contemporary drummers can still read (and interpret these) in 4/4 (Common time)."
